IVC Water & Wastewater Plant Improvements

The Imperial Valley Water and Wastewater Improvement project was a rehabilitation to the existing water and waste water plant at the Imperial Valley College Campus. The project consisted of the selection of new domestic water booster pumps, fire pump and UV light waste water treatment system. The existing campus water system within the plant was deteriorating and in disrepair. Existing abandoned piping, tanks and equipment were removed. New equipment was provided and the piping layouts revised to work with the new equipment and existing distribution loops. Temporary provisions were provided in design to ensure the campus remained online during school times. One challenging part of this project was the combined fire/domestic water distribution system, the engineer needed to match the new and existing equipment sequences to make sure the domestic water system and fire system were able to work together.
